Shamita Shetty pursued her school studies from St. Anthony’s girl’s High School which is in Chembur area in Mumbai city. She is a graduate in Commerce field from Sydenham College which is in Mumbai.

Shamita Shetty with some immense dancing and acting skills entered the hind movie industry through her debut film Mohabbatein. This movie was produced by Yash Raj and was directed by Aditya Chopra. Shamita shetty was featured as a college girl in a gurukul and the movie featured big stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. Shamita was seen in short and revealing costumes in the entire film and so she was tagged as a sex kitten of Bollywood from her debut film.
In the year 2005, Shamita Shetty received great applause for her work in the movie titled Zeher which had serial kisser Imran Hashmi in the lead. The movie was a super hit and mainly the music of the film was praised. Shamita played the character of a wife to Imran in the film and initially she was his lover and a crime investigating officer. The song “Agar Tum Mil Jaao, Zamana Chodh Denge hum” was a super hit song
In the early 2005, Shamita Shetty was also seen in the movie titled Fareb which had Shamita Shetty in a sister role to Shilpa Shetty who is her real life sister. The movie was an average hit at the box office and fetched some good response.
