Shahid is born to actress and classical dancer Neelima Azeem and television actor Pankaj Kapoor. Pankaj was a character artist in the cinema industry and was well for his comedy characters on a national channel. Due to personnel reason Shahid’s parents field for divorce when the actor was just 3 years old. The court ordered that Shahid’s look after must be done by Neelima Azeem and he his father has the right to look after his son once a week. Later on Pankaj Kapoor married Supriya Pathak who was also a character artist. However, Supriya and Pankaj Kapoor pampered Shahid a lot when he used to live with them once in a week and so Shahid maintains cordial relationship with his both parents even till date. Kapoor has a brother named Ishaan Kapoor and a sister named Sana and loves them a lot in the world.
From the beginning of the year 2004 Shahid fell in love with Kareena Kapoor and started dating her for a long time. After three years of successful dating it was rumored that the couple is going to marry each other. But, unfortunately the couple dumped their love bond in the year 2007 and parted their ways. Kareena is now presently dating Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor is meddling with Bollywood Actress Vidya Balan, Tennis sensation Sania Mirza and the latest gossip is that he is single now waiting for his soul mate and is planning to settle down in his life.
Though Shahid and Kareena parted their ways, they cordially wish other when they meet incidentally at award functions, on shooting locales and in parties. It was rumored in the year 2007 that Shahid was following his mother’s words and so dumped Kareena Kapoor for a silly misunderstanding.

Chocolate Faced Shahid Kapoor was exposed to cinema from his child hood and from a tender age started working in music videos and advertisements. In the year 1995 Shahid got his first break in clothing advertisements. But he did not fetch the expected positive reviews and so had to wait for a big break. He then acted in a Pepsi advertisements with Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and actress Rani Mukherji for which he was applause for his acting skills. In the year 1998 Shahid pursued concrete training sessions in dance from the Shiamak Davar Institute for the performing arts and was a master’s choice in the dancing skills. He excelled in the training batch and was recommended by Shiamak Davvar for many dance shows on a national and international level.
Subash Ghai who was in search for dancers for his next film project “Taal” approached Shaimak for a talented dancer and Shahid got nominated for the cat. Shahid was seen at the back of Aishwarya in the song Kahin aag Lage Lag Jawe and was appreciated well by the director.
After some struggling in the film industry, Shahid Kapoor got his debut break as a full fledged artist in the film titled “Ishq Vishk” which was a successful love story carved by Ken Gosh. The movies revolved around three youngest and their lives and Amrita Rao and MTV VJ Shehnaz were playing the female leads in this film.
In the year 2004 Shahid came in with the movie “FIDA”. Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan were the other two co-stars of Shahid Kapoor in this film. The movie was a suspense thriller where Shahid loves Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen lures Kareena in his love trap. The movie as a flop at the box office. But personally Shahid Kapoor gained Kareena Kapoor as the couple were said to be in love during this films shoot.
In the year 2006 Shahid was seen in the movie “Vivah” which was a romance filled drama subject which had Amrita Rao as his beloved. The movie was success at the box office and he was nominated for the film fare in a best actor role category.
In the year 2007, Shahid worked in the film “Jab We Met” which had Kareena Kapoor as his beloved. The film was a musical hit for the year 2007 and Shahid was nominated for the film fare in the best actor role. The story was about a young industrialist named Aditya who was vexed with his life’s twists and turns. He meets Kareena and then his life changes. The story was hit among the family crowds. The television rights of this film were sold out t Sony, Zee, and Star network on a royalty basis. This is a film which has been aired by many channels and was the only film which was telecasted in afternoon slot of zee channel and in the night prime of Star TV.
But after the film’s release Shahid was dumped by Kareena Kapoor and she started to date Saif Ali Khan.
