Aishwarya holds a sun sign of Scorpio as she was born on November 1st, 1973 in Mangalore city in Karnataka. Aishwarya is now a benevolent bahu of Bachchan Khandhan as she married Abhishek Bachchan in the year 2007.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born in the district of Mangalore which is in the state of Karnataka. She is the only daughter of Krishnaraj and Vrinda Rai. Krishna Raj is a marine biologist while Vrinda is a well known writer. Aditya Rai who is elder brother of Aishwarya is an engineer in merchant navy and also produced the movie “Dil Ka Rishta” partially in the year 2003.
Ash, which is Aishwarya’s pet name; pursued her school education in Arya Vaidya Mandir High School in Santa Cruz and then pursued her higher secondary education in Jai Hind College and Ruparel College which is located in Church gate and Matunga. Ash had an ambition to pursue further studies and wanted to become an architect.
Aishwarya Rai learnt Tulu, English, Hindi, Marathi and Tamil Language and known them verbal and through writing. Chasing her passion to become an architect, Aishwarya stepped into modeling to gain her pocket money. She won the second place in Miss India contest and won a Miss World title the same year, as the modeling bug entered her mind, she migrated to London and started to work on her modeling career. As the miss world title fetched her a year long stay in the beautiful city, Rai professionally entered modeling industry and endorsed many brands. Then she took up acting as a profession and is currently reigning as India’s top actress.
Aishwarya Rai dated Salman Khan and then Vivek Oberoi and later on when Abhishek Bachchan proposed to her in New York after the world premiere of GURU, she accepted and now is a Bachchan Khandhan Bahu. Ash married Abhishek Bachchan who was a son of actor Amitabh and actress Jaya Bachchan on April 20th in the year 2007.

Trivia: Aishwarya is the only actress in India who is paid a regular remuneration of 3 crores and a special remuneration of 6 crores for her Tamil film with Rajinikanth which is titled as Endhiran.
Aishwarya Rai made her debut in the year 1997 through a Tamil film Iruvar which had Mohanlal and Ajith in the lead. Actress Tabu was also featured in that film. Ace director Maniratnam directed this film and was a pretty good success.
Then in the year 1998, another Tamil film of her titled Jeans was released and this film bought the fame and limelight to the gorgeous beauty. She was awarded a Film fare best actress award for acting superbly in a dual role. The music of this film was also excellent and was directed by versatile director Shanker.
In the year 1999, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was Aishwarya’s Bollywood film which brought her the much needed break. It fetched her Film Fare best actress award and was a musical hit. Salman Khan was the hero and during the making of this film Sallu and Ash fell in love and started to date.
Following the subsequent year, i.e. the year 2000, her movies Mohabbatein released which also had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The movie was a super hit and was based on four love stories.

In the year 2003, Aishwarya Rai became a jury member at the Cannes Film festival.
In the year 2004 in October, Aishwarya’s wax figure was displayed in London’s Madame Tussads wax museum and the same month her first English movie Bride and Prejudice was released
Ash appeared in an item song in the film Banti Aur Babli for the song “Kajra Re” which had Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
In the year 2005, L’Oreal signed Ash for a 3 years contract and she became the model for the cosmetics company.
